RSS - Oprah Terminology

RSS is a technology. It's being used by millions of peoples around the world to keep track of websites that they love. We can say that RSS is the new way to ‘bookmark’ websites.

Cause the problems with old bookmark are;
* You as the web user had to do all the work
* It can be hard when you are trying to track a lot of websites at once
* You will miss information when you forget to check them.
* You waste your time to see the same information over and over again on websites that don't update very often.

RSS flips things around a little bit and is a technology that gives you a way of getting relevant and up to date information sent to you for you to read in your own time.
It saves your time. And it helps you to get the information you want soon after it was published.

The Oprah Terminology
The technical acronym for RSS are used to refer to the following formats:
- Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91)
- RDF Site Summary (RSS 1.0 and RSS 0.90)
- Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)

An XML format that was created to syndicate news, and be a method to share content on the web.

Now, to geeks and techies that means something special, but to everyday folks like me, what comes to mind is, “Uh, I don’t get it!”
So, to make RSS much easier to understand, in Oprah speak, RSS stands for:
I’m “Ready for Some Stories”.

It is an online way for you to get a quick list of the most recent story headlines from all of your favorite websites and blogs. All in one place.
